Police Identify Suspect In Garner Shooting

GARNER, N.C. -

Garner Police are looking for a suspect in the Wednesday shooting of an 18-year-old Wake County man.

Police have obtained warrants for the arrest of Jonathan Antonio Williams, 23, of Wake County. He is charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Police said 18-year-old James Tony White, of Raleigh, was shot in the head shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday while on the 400 block of Weston Ridge Run. Police said the victim then walked to Grassy Rio Lane, where he was found.

The suspect was seen leaving in an older model white Mercury vehicle. The suspect is described as a male, about 5 feet, 11 inches to 6 feet tall, and weighing 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing light colored blue jeans and a green shirt.

The victim was taken to Wake Med for non-life threatening injuries. He is listed in good condition.
